What is a dewberry worth?

You tell me...what is a dewberry worth? While picking these precious wild black berries we have encountered snakes, ticks, chiggers, skunks, thorns, fire ants, bees, wasps, mosquitoes, stinging nettle and poison ivy. It is all worth it when I eat some of Kristine's dewberry cobbler!

Here is the recipe:
1.5 cup milk
2 cups flour
2.5 cups sugar
1 tsp sea salt
1 stick of butter
2 tbs. baking powder
4 cups of organic dewberries
1 tsp. of vanilla

Preparation:
mix together flour, sugar, salt, milk, baking powder and vanilla in a large bowl. Melt the stick of butter in a 9x13 pan, pour in 1/2 of the mixture into the butter, pour in the 4 cups of organic dewberries. Pour the rest of the mixture on top and sprinkle with a little sugar. Bake 1 hour at 325. Garnish with fresh mint and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. ENJOY!!!

  1. I have lived in Corpus Christi for about 12 years and have never seen a dewberry in this area.
    Where can I find some?
