Eleven Days Old

Harvest Moon is now 11 days old, she has been having a lot of fun romping and playing in the fields!

Sally Sue is getting a work out keeping up with her!

EAT GREEN DFW

We had special guests here at the farm today.... Allison, Mike and their daughter Sarah with eatgreendfw!

After taking a stroll through the plum blossoms we made our way to the garden. Sarah loved picking the tiny purple wildflowers!

April 11 they will be bringing their group of about 20 to visit the farm.

The Smell of Spring

The Chickasaw, Mexican and Red plums are in bloom. The fragrance is truly intoxicating! Ummm... I love the Smell of Spring at Eden Creek Farm! Today the wind gusts got up to 43 miles per hour...That should help dry out the fields!

I can taste the plum wine now.....

It's a filly!

At 1:12am this morning "Harvest Moon"...our new filly was born! In this photo she is only about 6 hours old.

Sally Sue is being a very good first time mom. Her foal is happy and healthy!

Harvest Moon is a Claybank Red Dun...1/2 quarter horse 1/2 Belgian.

Got Horse Milk!

Our mare's milk came in over 5 weeks ago...today she finally has waxed...this means Sally Sue should have her foal within twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Yeeeeeeeeeee-Haw!

Warmer weather for planting

Been busy transplanting the seedlings of Kohlrabi, Sweet Peas, Head Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Collards, Kale , Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts...

The onions are starting to grow...the ground is starting to dry out just in time to get hit by another big storm.

The first peach tree started to bloom this week and the bees have already found it!

Butter Fingers (our rooster) is anxious for his new...thirty girlfriends to grow up!
